Render Imagination Inc. proudly contributed to over 100+ VFX shots for Netflix’s ‘The Decameron,’ including CG assets, set extensions, plate prep, FX simulations all the way to final compositing. Our team harnessed next-generation realtime technology to tackle the complex visual effects required for the project by pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in traditional VFX.
The basics for success
The foundation of any successful VFX project lies in the preparation. Essential tasks like roto, paint, cleanup, plate prep, camera tracking, and matchmove are the building blocks that ensure every shot integrates seamlessly into the final product. These basics are not just routine steps for us—they are critical processes that we approach with precision and care.
FX Simulations
In our innovative approach, we skillfully integrated both traditional FX simulations and cutting-edge real-time technologies to achieve photoreal results. This unique blend allowed us to have exceptional creative control while leveraging a high throughput feedback cycle.
EmberGen for Realistic Fire Effects
We harnessed the advanced capabilities of EmberGen, a state-of-the-art tool for real-time simulations. Using this, we were able to generate lifelike fire elements that seamlessly integrated using our compositing techniques. This approach allowed us to produce simulations with a level of precision and realism that would have been far too time consuming using traditional methods alone.
One of the key advantages of our hybrid approach was the significant boost in efficiency and speed. By combining traditional FX simulations with real-time techniques, we were able to streamline the production process, reducing the time required for rendering and revisions. This not only accelerated our workflow but also allowed us to maintain a high standard of quality throughout the project.
Set Extensions
Digital matte painting and set extensions are at the core of what we do, deeply rooted in our expertise and experience. We have honed our skills to create believable worlds, seamlessly blending digital environments with live-action footage to extend reality beyond the confines of the physical set.
We harnessed Cassiar Technologies’ ‘Studio in the Cloud‘ to effortlessly scale and manage a global team securely. This innovative solution allowed us to expand our reach, ensuring a dynamic workforce while maintaining top-notch security standards.
